The students of 4th, 5th and 6th class had a great day out a Bantry cinema watching their production 'Olympic Dreams' on the big screen. We were delighted to be presented with the award for best acting. A special thanks to Mr. Cronin for his help directing and editing our film. Click here to watch our short film.
We hope you enjoy our short film which we entered into the FÍS competition. Our film centres around the main character Rory who drifts off in a lesson about the Olympic Games. His dreams take him to a very unusual place; the Olympics being held in Drinagh. Will Rory be victorious, please watch to find out!!
The students showed of their wonderful musical talents at the end of year music concert. The junior and senior infants gave a great rendition of a sea shanty, 1st, 2nd and 3rd class performed the Haka and played Ireland's Call and students from 4th, 5th and 6th class played a variety of pieces they have learned during the year with music teacher Mrs. French. We are lucky to have such a talented group of children in our school.
Ms Connolly's class took advantage of the good weather and made the back yard their outdoor classroom to explore capacity. There was some very steady pouring and very accurate measuring by the boys and girls in 1st and 2nd class.
5th and 6th class students have really enjoyed their weekly robotics classes. They had to work together as a team, communicate effectively and use their problem solving skills to build and code their robots successfully.
The students of 4th, 5th and 6th class were delighted to make a donation of €200 from the profits of the Junior Entrepreneur programme to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The Drinagh N.S. boy's soccer team did themselves proud and represented the school so well in the FAI primary school 5s soccer tournament at Musgrave Park.
The boys and girls in Mrs. Perkins' Room were learning about all things farming during Aistear this week. They created some wonderful farms and a fine flock of fluffy sheep too!
The boys and girls of Drinagh N.S. had a great time celebrating Seachtain na Gaeilge with a whole school cluiche biongó, céilí dancing with Mrs. French and a scavenger hunt as Gaeilge with Ms Connolly.
